The three women who created the worldwide smash hit – creator/producer Judy Craymer, writer Catherine Johnson and director Phyllida Lloyd – repeated their roles in bringing the joyful, musical story to the big screen. Produced by Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman for Universal Pictures, MAMMA MIA! The Movie, became the highest grossing live action musical film of all time upon its release in 2008.
The film stars Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Julie Walters, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgaard, Christine Baranski, Dominic Cooper and Amanda Seyfried.

MAMMA MIA! Here We Go Again
A second film, MAMMA MIA! Here We Go Again, produced by Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman, was written and directed by Ol Parker from a story by Catherine Johnson, Richard Curtis and Ol Parker. The film opened in July 2018 and is the most successful live musical movie sequel of all time.
Both films star Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård, Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper, with Lily James, Andy Garcia and Cher joining them in the second film.
