Join in the fun at MAMMA MIA! in the open air for the very first time! The ‘ultimate feel-good show’ (Classic FM) has already thrilled over 65 million people and now it’s your chance to experience the worldwide phenomenon live on stage, set in the grounds of Harewood House!

Fall in love with the irresistibly funny tale of a mother, a daughter and three possible dads on a Greek island idyll, all unfolding to the magic of ABBA's timeless songs.

Since premiering in London’s West End over 21 years ago the world’s sunniest and most exhilarating smash-hit musical has been turned into two record-breaking movies - MAMMA MIA! The Movie and MAMMA MIA! Here We Go Again.

Now you can enjoy MAMMA MIA! live on stage and under the stars, set against the stunning, picturesque backdrop of Harewood House. For 20 performances only, this is the first time MAMMA MIA! has ever played an open-air show and it will be an experience you’ll never forget.

Whatever age you are, you can’t help but have the time of your life at MAMMA MIA!

Following the government’s announcement to delay the route map, we want to reassure you that MAMMA MIA! UNDER THE STARS is being planned in a Covid secure way. Safety will remain our priority and we are constantly monitoring government guidelines to ensure the show can go ahead, even without an easing of current restrictions.

We’ve created MAMMA MIA! UNDER THE STARS with audience safety in mind and the event has been designed to operate under social distancing rules, which means that if restrictions are not relaxed completely, we can still go ahead with the event – same show, same experience, same fun… just socially distanced!

If all goes well and the government confirms the final stage of lockdown will be relaxed on 19th July, we’ll aim to ease our restrictions, however, we will still be doing everything we can to keep you safe.

For the first time ever, MAMMA MIA! is taking place outdoors, in the fresh air, which is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of Covid when socialising. There will be plenty of space for our audience to circulate both in front of the stage and around our food and drinks areas. Even if restrictions are released, we will still have enough space to allow you to socially distance from other audience members if you want to.

View our Planned Measures in detail.

We will have a number of Covid secure measures implemented, including:

Controlled capacity:
We have carefully worked out the capacity of our site based on a socially distanced model and are strictly limiting the number of tickets sold to ensure there will be plenty of space for everyone.

Socially distanced viewing:
If government restrictions are still in place, our ‘Lawn Areas’ will be divided into ‘pitches’ to ensure social distancing rules are adhered to. The ‘Seated Areas’ will have sufficient space so that groups from different households can sit separately from each other.

Audience circulation:
We will have aisles between every row of ‘pitches’ to maintain separation when entering or exiting the viewing area.

We have identified potential pinch points and planned effective ways to manage queues while maintaining social distancing with one way systems, signage, spacing indicators and extra staff in areas such as site entry, toilets and the food and drink village.

Ticket Scanning:
We are using a contactless ticket scanning system on site, to minimise contact between you and our staff.

Contactless payment:
To the greatest extent possible, stalls on-site will offer contactless payment to minimise contact between you and our staff (you can still pay with cash if you prefer).

Covid risk assessment and consultant:
Throughout the planning and delivery of this event we are working with a consultant experienced in successfully delivering Covid safe events who is advising us on how to setup and maintain a Covid secure environment for you and our staff. Our risk assessments are constantly under review and the recommendations implemented appropriately.

There will be signage across the site to remind our staff and visitors of the ‘Hands, Face, Space’ slogan.

Contact Surfaces:
Will be cleaned rigorously before and after each show as well as regularly throughout each event.

Hand Sanitization:
Our toilet facilities will have fresh running water and soap for hand washing, as well as hand sanitization facilities available at regular intervals across the site.

Nearer the time, we'll publish more detail about our plans as they develop, but for now, please be assured that we are taking audience safety seriously. We want you to stay safe, feel confident and most importantly, have fun!
